Mr Steven Quek C H


Mr Steven Quek C H graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1991 and the Nanyang Technological University with a Post-graduate Diploma in Education (Physical Education) in 1993 and a Masters in Education in 1998. He is also a International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Level 4 (Distance Running) certified coach.

Mr Quek has researched extensively in the area of managing sports and academic achievements to help students cope with the demands of Singapore’s education system. His Masters dissertation was entitled: “Process variables contributing to sports and academic achievements in the Singapore Schools Environment”.

Since 1986, he has been coaching student-athletes at various levels. In addition to his personal experience as a student-athlete and PE teacher.

Most recently, Mr Quek guided teams from Raffles Institution (A Division Boys & Girls, B & C Division Boys) and River Valley High School (B Division Girls) to a record breaking five championship titles at the 2014 National Schools Cross Country Championships.




Mr Quek has authored several publications including:

- Physical Education for Upper Secondary (2008)
- C Kunalan – Singapore Greatest Track and Field Athlete (2010)
- The EW Barker Institute of Sports Student-Athlete’s Handbook (2012)
