The Coach

Lim Kien Mau

Kien Mau graduated from NTU with Honours in Mechanical and Production Engineering but chose to follow his passion, and became a certified track & field coach.

His qualifications include the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Coaches Course - Level 2, the IAAF CECS Lecturers Course – Level 1 and the Singapore Sports Council (SSC) - National Coaching Accreditation Programme (NCAP) - Level 2. In order to deepen his knowledge base and keep himself updated with current pedagogy and scientific aspects of the field, he completed his Master of Science (Exercise and Sports Studies) in 2018.

Kien Mau has been involved in competitive long distance running and coaching since 1996 in Malaysia and Singapore. In 2018, he saw an opportunity to fulfil his dream to represent Malaysia in SEA Games Duathlon event, an event that had not been included in SEA Games for 12 years. He used his newly acquired knowledge in Sports Science, started to include cycling in his science-based training program. He won Malaysia SEA Games National Selection Trial 10 months after he picked up cycling. He believes in the importance of having a well-planned programme that allows athletes to train efficiently.

He looks forward to serving others and inspiring passion for sports in Mileage.
